Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour one of Calgary's active landfills, learn about the diversion process of our commercial waste, recyling and compost from city staff.

Departing from downtown on a charter bus, we will travel to the East Calgary Landfill and visit a variety of sites that are not typically accessible to the public, including the compost pad. We’ll be returning to downtown by 5:30 p.m.

SPACE IS LIMITED. Please register in advance for a place.

Organized by

Founded in 2013, Design Talks Institute (d.talks) is a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing thinking and dialogue around architecture, art and design within the urban environment. Through exhibitions, workshops, seminars, and conferences, the organization facilitates wide-ranging discussions that cover a range of contemporary issues on spatial form, distilling how these relate at the local level. Curiosity and a desire to find common ground through compelling inquiry propel and sustain the organization. At d.talks, a question is always as important as an answer.
